Solar Energy Cons

Solar Panels

Even though solar energy is the earths most available source, it has some disadvantages. One disadvantage is that the amount of sunlight that hits the earths surface isn't constant. It depends on the time of year, time of day, the location, and the weather conditions. Another drawback of solar energy is that a large area is required to collect solar energy because the sun doesn't deliver that much energy to a certain place at a certain time. Another disadvantage of solar energy is that it is intermittent. This means that it is not available at all times. The process to get solar energy is also very long. First solar thermal power plants heat a liquid to a very high temperature using the suns rays. Then the fluid is sent through pipes to transfer its heat to water to produce steam. The steam is then converted into mechanical energy in a turbine, then changed to electricity by a generator joined to the turbine. The last disadvantage is that Solar panels are very expensive ,clouds, pollution, and snow can decrease the efficiency of the solar panels.

Solar Energy/ Solar Panels

- Solar panels collect Photons from the sun
- Photons are converted to DC electrical power
- Then the power created flows into an inverter
- Then the inverter transforms the power created
into basic voltage and AC electrical power

Solar Powered Cars

-Solar powered cars help on saving money and keeping the environment clean.
-Solar cars work by using hundreds of thousands of photovoltaic
cells to transform sunlight into electricity
-This cars average speed is reported as much as 37mph

Solar Panels on Homes
After the investment of putting solar panels on your home,
your utility bills will be much less because you will be using
less energy and sometimes there wont be an amount do at all.
